OVERVIEW&nbsp;
The Montshire Museum of Science (Norwich, VT) seeks a broadly experienced individual with strong nonprofit finance experience to serve as Director of Finance. This position serves as a member of the Montshire’s senior management team and as an advisor to the Executive Director in the areas of strategic financial planning, internal controls, compliance, and safeguarding of museum assets. This position is responsible for general, grants and capital accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, risk management, investment tracking and reporting, administration of employee benefit plans, and coordination of select HR processes.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;
Primary responsibilities include maintenance of general ledger and accounts; effective coordination of billing, fund allocation and annual audit; budget and reporting; payroll; accounts; insurance and deposits. This position also oversees payroll processing and staff enrollment into health, retirement and other benefits plans; coordinates insurance processing, workers’ compensation, disability and other insurance claims; and assists with general HR processes.&nbsp;
Specific responsibilities include:&nbsp;
Strategic Financial Planning – In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and executes long-term financial strategies to ensure the Museum’s profitability and sustainability.&nbsp;
General Accounting and Finance Operations – Maintains general ledger and accounts. Monitors operational cash flow. Ensures timely deposits into accounts. Prepares invoices for payment. Oversees billing. Processes and monitors credit card activities. Reconciles, and creates invoices and reports for active grants. Oversees and reconciles museum accounts. Ensures timely and accurate use of restricted funds, including grants and endowment funds.&nbsp;
Budgeting and Financial Forecasting – Oversees development of the Museum’s annual operating, project and capital budgets. Assists with grant budget creation. Produces financial forecasts for operations and capital needs. Updates five-year capital investment plan. Tracks income and expenses for museum operations, grant-funded and capital projects.&nbsp;
Financial Reporting – Generates monthly, quarterly and annual reports on revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance for key stakeholders.&nbsp;
Grants – Maintains SAM and grants.gov registrations. Completes contracting, insurance and certifications for new awards. Performs quarterly invoicing for active grants. Creates quarterly, annual and final financial reports for federal, state and foundation grants.&nbsp;
Audit Coordination and Support – Prepares required materials and oversees annual audit. Serves as liaison with external auditor. Facilitates annual tax return filing.&nbsp;
Payroll&nbsp;– Oversees smooth operation of payroll processing, taxes, retirement contributions, and accounting of staff time and attendance. Reconciles staff time and attendance data with grant time tracking.&nbsp;

Investment Oversight – Monitors and reports on investment performance to Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees. Executes transactions and transfers between investment, endowment and operations accounts.&nbsp;
Staff Liaison – Serves as staff liaison to Finance and Investment Committees of the Montshire Board of Trustees. Prepares quarterly board finance and investment reports. Attends select committee and board meetings.&nbsp;
Staff Supervision and Departmental Management - Hiring, training, and overseeing staff in the finance office. Coordinates administration of internships and work study programs.&nbsp;

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS REQUIREMENTS&nbsp;

Four-year college degree in finance, accounting or business administration; advanced degree (MBA) and/or certification (CPA) preferred&nbsp;
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in senior-level nonprofit finance / accounting of mid-sized organization required (minimum $2M annual budget) with strong understanding of cost control principles and GAAP, and demonstrated experience negotiating contracts, tracking investment, and creating financial reports&nbsp;
Minimum 3 years of employee benefits administration experience (including health, retirement, STD/LTD, flex accounts, FMLA, workers compensation)&nbsp;
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of finance office and bookkeeping and/or accounting staff&nbsp;
Able to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare clear, concise, accurate, and timely financial reports, statements and projections&nbsp;

Based&nbsp;in&nbsp;Keene,&nbsp;New&nbsp;Hampshire,&nbsp;SWNHDFMA provides&nbsp;emergency&nbsp;telecommunications&nbsp;services for 78 fire/EMS agencies across three (3) states.&nbsp;The SWNHDFMA Emergency Communications Center (ECC) dispatches for organizations that cover 2,067 square miles (twice the land area of the State of Rhode Island) and serves a population of 201,293 (equivalent to 10% of the combined populations of New Hampshire and Vermont).&nbsp;The ECC dispatches more than&nbsp;27,000 emergency calls per year and employs approximately 15 FTEs and 13 per diem staﬀ.

The Chief Coordinator serves as the chief administrative and executive oﬀicer of SWNHDFMA. Appointed&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;executive&nbsp;committee,&nbsp;this&nbsp;individual&nbsp;must&nbsp;possess&nbsp;significant&nbsp;experience&nbsp;in&nbsp;the fire service,&nbsp;fire&nbsp;dispatch,&nbsp;radio&nbsp;communications,&nbsp;and&nbsp;public&nbsp;administration.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Chief Coordinator is&nbsp;responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;administration&nbsp;of&nbsp;day-to-day&nbsp;operations,&nbsp;including&nbsp;personnel&nbsp;management, budget development, and the execution of SWNHDFMA Board policies.
Candidates&nbsp;must&nbsp;have&nbsp;strong, innovative&nbsp;leadership,&nbsp;conflict resolution,&nbsp;planning&nbsp;and&nbsp;managerial skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. A successful record of experience in progressively responsible supervisory, administrative and fire/EMS related supervisory assignments is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas; budgeting, crafting collaborative interagency relationships, labor management relations, pacing change, incident command and emergency management.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public safety, fire science, communications, business administration, or public administration.&nbsp;A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the public safety field, preferably&nbsp;in&nbsp;New&nbsp;England.&nbsp;At&nbsp;least&nbsp;three (3)of&nbsp;the&nbsp;ten (10)&nbsp;years&nbsp;of&nbsp;experience&nbsp;must&nbsp;be&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;supervisory or training officer capacity within a public safety communications center.

Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York (CUNY). LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree programs and more than fifty workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 24,000 students. More than one-third of LaGuardia’s degree-seeking students are born outside the United States; they come from 136 countries and speak 43 heritage languages. Sixty percent are first-generation college students.

&nbsp;Reporting to the Sr Vice President of Administration and Finance or to a designated senior official of the College, the incumbent has the widest latitude for ensuring the safety and security of the campus, college property, faculty, staff, students, and members of the community who enter the college campus. In addition to the General Duties listed above, the Campus Security Director, Level 4, will be responsible for the following:
<ul>
<li>Oversee risk management and loss prevention activities, compliance with fire safety and emergency preparedness;</li>
<li>Consult with the College’s legal, diversity, human resources and student affair departments, and other campus leaders on matters affecting the security of the campus community;</li>
<li>Ensure that the department works closely with Title IX Coordinator regarding mandated enforcement;</li>
<li>Manage crime prevention activities, workplace violence prevention programs and event security;</li>
<li>Assesses College needs and manage installation/maintenance of security communications, access control and surveillance technology; obtains, provides, and maintains security equipment, vehicles, and facilities in consultation with the University Public Safety Office.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ol>
<li>A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in a closely related field of study such as Criminal Justice, Police Science, and Industrial Security and four (4) years of related security experience or equivalent military experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial and supervisory experience; OR</li>
<li>A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and six (6) years of related security experience or equivalent military experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial and supervisory experience; OR</li>
<li>An associate’s degree or 60 college credits from an accredited institution in a related field of study, such as Criminal Justice, Police Science, Industrial Security and eight (8) of related security experience or equivalent military experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial and supervisory experience; OR</li>
<li>A high school diploma or GED and ten (10) years of related security experience or equivalent military experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial and supervisory experience; AND</li>
<li>A driver’s license valid in New York State.</li>
</ol>

Substitutions Permitted:
A substitution will be permitted for two (2) of the three (3) years of the related managerial experience described in items #1 and 2 above by submitting documentation of completion of one of the following:
<ol>
<li>American Society for Industrial Security, Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certificate program, or</li>
<li>Professional law enforcement police executive training program such as the FBI academy, the Northwestern University Traffic Institute (long course), the Police Executive Research Forum (Senior Management Institute) at the Institute for Police, or any other nationally accredited certificate program in law enforcement administration.</li>
</ol>

NOTE: This position is subject to a satisfactory background investigation by the University Office of Public Safety, which may include, but is not limited to, criminal history review, drug test, credit checks, driving record review, work history verification, reference checks, etc. This position is subject to random drug testing, as well as re-fingerprinting and reinvestigation every five years.

FURTHER NOTE: A person appointed to this position may be required to participate in training as designated by the College President and University Public Safety Director.

COMPENSATION
$95,367 - $150,000

We have a Medical Assistant position available! Approximately 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Duties include but are not limited to answering telephone calls, taking messages for the doctor, scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in and out during clinic hours, handling medical record requests, assisting with running patients (reviewing medications, medical history, and taking vitals). Travel to our satellite office at Miami Valley North on Mondays is mandatory.
