The Montshire Museum of Science (Norwich, VT) seeks a broadly experienced individual with strong nonprofit finance experience to serve as Director of Finance. This position serves as a member of the Montshire’s senior management team and as an advisor to the Executive Director in the areas of strategic financial planning, internal controls, compliance, and safeguarding of museum assets. This position is responsible for general, grants and capital accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, risk management, investment tracking and reporting, administration of employee benefit plans, and coordination of select HR processes.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;
Primary responsibilities include maintenance of general ledger and accounts; effective coordination of billing, fund allocation and annual audit; budget and reporting; payroll; accounts; insurance and deposits. This position also oversees payroll processing and staff enrollment into health, retirement and other benefits plans; coordinates insurance processing, workers’ compensation, disability and other insurance claims; and assists with general HR processes.&nbsp;
Specific responsibilities include:&nbsp;
Strategic Financial Planning – In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and executes long-term financial strategies to ensure the Museum’s profitability and sustainability.&nbsp;
General Accounting and Finance Operations – Maintains general ledger and accounts. Monitors operational cash flow. Ensures timely deposits into accounts. Prepares invoices for payment. Oversees billing. Processes and monitors credit card activities. Reconciles, and creates invoices and reports for active grants. Oversees and reconciles museum accounts. Ensures timely and accurate use of restricted funds, including grants and endowment funds.&nbsp;
Budgeting and Financial Forecasting – Oversees development of the Museum’s annual operating, project and capital budgets. Assists with grant budget creation. Produces financial forecasts for operations and capital needs. Updates five-year capital investment plan. Tracks income and expenses for museum operations, grant-funded and capital projects.&nbsp;
Financial Reporting – Generates monthly, quarterly and annual reports on revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance for key stakeholders.&nbsp;
Grants – Maintains SAM and grants.gov registrations. Completes contracting, insurance and certifications for new awards. Performs quarterly invoicing for active grants. Creates quarterly, annual and final financial reports for federal, state and foundation grants.&nbsp;
Audit Coordination and Support – Prepares required materials and oversees annual audit. Serves as liaison with external auditor. Facilitates annual tax return filing.&nbsp;
Payroll&nbsp;– Oversees smooth operation of payroll processing, taxes, retirement contributions, and accounting of staff time and attendance. Reconciles staff time and attendance data with grant time tracking.&nbsp;
Administration of Employee Benefits and General HR-&nbsp;

<li>Ensures new hire employment eligibility. Coordinates new hire background checks.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Oversees new hire and annual enrollments into health, retirement and other benefits.&nbsp;</li>

Investment Oversight – Monitors and reports on investment performance to Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees. Executes transactions and transfers between investment, endowment and operations accounts.&nbsp;
Staff Liaison – Serves as staff liaison to Finance and Investment Committees of the Montshire Board of Trustees. Prepares quarterly board finance and investment reports. Attends select committee and board meetings.&nbsp;
Staff Supervision and Departmental Management - Hiring, training, and overseeing staff in the finance office. Coordinates administration of internships and work study programs.&nbsp;

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS REQUIREMENTS&nbsp;

Four-year college degree in finance, accounting or business administration; advanced degree (MBA) and/or certification (CPA) preferred&nbsp;
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in senior-level nonprofit finance / accounting of mid-sized organization required (minimum $2M annual budget) with strong understanding of cost control principles and GAAP, and demonstrated experience negotiating contracts, tracking investment, and creating financial reports&nbsp;
Minimum 3 years of employee benefits administration experience (including health, retirement, STD/LTD, flex accounts, FMLA, workers compensation)&nbsp;
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of finance office and bookkeeping and/or accounting staff&nbsp;

<h2>Southwestern&nbsp;New&nbsp;Hampshire District&nbsp;Fire&nbsp;Mutual&nbsp;Aid&nbsp;(SWNHDFMA)&nbsp;is&nbsp;seeking&nbsp;a&nbsp;progressive and dynamic leader to fill the position of Chief Coordinator.</h2>
Based&nbsp;in&nbsp;Keene,&nbsp;New&nbsp;Hampshire,&nbsp;SWNHDFMA provides&nbsp;emergency&nbsp;telecommunications&nbsp;services for 78 fire/EMS agencies across three (3) states.&nbsp;The SWNHDFMA Emergency Communications Center (ECC) dispatches for organizations that cover 2,067 square miles (twice the land area of the State of Rhode Island) and serves a population of 201,293 (equivalent to 10% of the combined populations of New Hampshire and Vermont).&nbsp;The ECC dispatches more than&nbsp;27,000 emergency calls per year and employs approximately 15 FTEs and 13 per diem staﬀ.
Keene is known for recreational opportunities, this vibrant area has more than 40 restaurants, 92 lakes, 50 miles of navigable water and is home to Mount Monadnock (3,165 ft) which is the second most hiked mountain in the world. The Chief Coordinator serves as the chief administrative and executive oﬀicer of SWNHDFMA. Appointed&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;executive&nbsp;committee,&nbsp;this&nbsp;individual&nbsp;must&nbsp;possess&nbsp;significant&nbsp;experience&nbsp;in&nbsp;the fire service,&nbsp;fire&nbsp;dispatch,&nbsp;radio&nbsp;communications,&nbsp;and&nbsp;public&nbsp;administration.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Chief Coordinator is&nbsp;responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;administration&nbsp;of&nbsp;day-to-day&nbsp;operations,&nbsp;including&nbsp;personnel&nbsp;management, budget development, and the execution of SWNHDFMA Board policies.
Candidates&nbsp;must&nbsp;have&nbsp;strong, innovative&nbsp;leadership,&nbsp;conflict resolution,&nbsp;planning&nbsp;and&nbsp;managerial skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. A successful record of experience in progressively responsible supervisory, administrative and fire/EMS related supervisory assignments is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas; budgeting, crafting collaborative interagency relationships, labor management relations, pacing change, incident command and emergency management.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public safety, fire science, communications, business administration, or public administration.&nbsp;A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the public safety field, preferably&nbsp;in&nbsp;New&nbsp;England.&nbsp;At&nbsp;least&nbsp;three (3)of&nbsp;the&nbsp;ten (10)&nbsp;years&nbsp;of&nbsp;experience&nbsp;must&nbsp;be&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;supervisory or training officer capacity within a public safety communications center.

The Senior Water Resources Specialist within the Water Utility Planning and Fish and Aquatic Habitat Collaborative Effort (FAHCE) Support Unit will be a key driver in implementing the FAHCE program. This is a leadership position that will play a role in developing and executing integrated environmental strategies that protect and restore watersheds, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance the long-term sustainability of Valley Water's local water supply. This role will provide senior-level execution of the FAHCE commitments, such as developing non-flow measures, annual reporting, project management, and , as well as supporting other environmental permitting and project management activities for other water utility projects. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

<li>Lead implementation for the FAHCE Program, ensuring regulatory and programmatic requirements are met.</li>
<li>Prepare and complete annual reports, manage program budgets, and administer related contracts.</li>
<li>Coordinate and lead meetings with external partners and interested parties.</li>
<li>Develop and present Board and committee items, including staff reports and support materials.</li>
<li>Plan and develop habitat restoration projects aligned with program and regulatory objectives.</li>
<li>Prepare permitting documentation to support water rights compliance.</li>
<li>Obtain and update Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements (LSAAs) for Valley Water dams and diversions.</li>
<li>Provide permitting and environmental review support for Water Utility projects (e.g., pipelines, canals, and treatment plants) as needed.</li>
<li>Respond to emerging environmental and operational challenges, including efforts to protect water infrastructure from invasive mussels.</li>
</ul>

<li>Six (6) years of professional-level experience within the fields of environmental/natural resources permitting, habitat restoration, water supply planning, fisheries, ecology, and/or watershed management. </li>
<li>Experience working with State and Federal agencies negotiating permits and ensuring permit compliance.</li>
<li>Experience in preparing compliance reports.</li>
<li>Experience in project management.</li>
</ul>

<li>Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.</li>
<li>Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present technical information and data in an effective manner.</li>

 Ideal Knowledge:

<li>Watershed management, aquatic ecology, and principles of habitat restoration </li>
<li>State and Federal regulatory laws, regulations, and natural resource permitting</li>

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite. Assistant Professor Of Meteorology Ames, IA Full Time R18440 Position Title: Assistant Professor of Meteorology Appointment Type: Faculty Job Description: The Department of Earth, Atmosphere, and Climate in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Atmospheric Science with expertise in using innovative data-driven approaches, with preference for expertise in AI/ML applications, to advance understanding and/or prediction of weather or climate. The successful candidate will be expected to build a nationally recognized, externally funded research program; mentor graduate and undergraduate students; and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including the use of AI/ML in meteorology. Research should complement one or more of the existing strengths in the department, which include numerical weather prediction, climate modeling, high-impact weather and climate events, boundary layer meteorology, and surface hydrology.  Department/Program &amp; College Description: The Department of the Earth, Atmosphere, and Climate is staffed by 16 faculty and has strengths in climate and paleoclimate, microscale and mesoscale meteorology, hydrology, solid-earth processes, geochemistry, and geoscience education. Undergraduate programs in climate science, earth science, geology, and meteorology serve approximately 200 undergraduate majors. About 30 M.S. and Ph.D. students are enrolled in the geology and meteorology graduate programs. Generous support for the Department is provided by an active group of alumni and friends. The Geology Program runs a multi-use field station in northwest Wyoming with a 60-year tradition of providing immersive education for students from across the country. Departmental research facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories in stable isotope geochemistry, analogue tectonic modeling, and biogeochemistry.
