Job Title: Training Coordinator
Team: OC One Stop Operator Team, America Works of California - Laguna Niguel
Compensation: $25 hourly pay during probation period, then $60,000 annual salary with benefits
Schedule: Be flexible to schedule changes. The Brea center operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while the Laguna Niguel center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Purpose: America Works of California, Inc., a socially conscious company, is seeking a Training Coordinator to work out of the Orange County Workforce Solutions Center (One-Stop Center). This role supports low-income and underserved job seekers in successfully navigating their job search and finding gainful employment. The ideal candidate has strong presentation skills, familiarity with job readiness topics, and is passionate about helping job seekers discover and build their skillsets.
About the Role:
Training Coordinators (part-time or full-time) are responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering workshops and training both in-person and virtually.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Design and conduct workshops on job readiness and workforce development (e.g., résumés, mock interviews, orientations)
· Facilitate 4–5 workshops daily for both large and small audiences
· Develop and update workshop materials and presentations using PowerPoint
· Track and manage job seeker data (attendance, interests, referrals) in Excel and CalJOBS
· Collaborate with the County of Orange on workshop content updates and approvals
· Serve as a liaison between Career Counselors and job seekers regarding workshops attended, résumés in need of review, and other job seeker needs
· Assist job seekers in the Resource Room
· Assist the front desk as needed by answering calls, administering TABE or other skills assessment tests, and providing coverage support
· Schedule rooms and workshops using Outlook for staff and workshops
· Collect, analyze, and compile data from workshops to generate accurate and timely reports that evaluate training effectiveness, participant engagement, and areas for improvement
· Maintain professionalism, foster inclusivity, and encourage job seekers toward full-time employment
· Report to the on-site Director with support from the Site Supervisor
Requirements
· Minimum of 4-year degree
· One to three (1-3) years of experience working with clients/participants in a workforce development, social services, or community-based context preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint, preferred
· Strong presentation and facilitation skills
· Curriculum and workshop development skills
· Experience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness
· Understanding of workforce development, employment services, and adult education a plus
· Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
