This position will provide leadership opportunities and will best fit entrepreneurial individuals. The selected candidate will work on a wide range of transportation design projects throughout the Midwest, on both roadway and rail structures. This position will support existing transportation projects and will serve as a Project Manager on upcoming pursuits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

What You Will Do:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team out of our Nashville, TN office. This role is primarily responsible for leading a team to perform the design and analysis of structural elements and systems for a variety of project types, in different industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, historical, adaptive reuse, and renovations. The Senior Engineer serves as the technical specialist and also mentors and trains junior and mid-level team members. The growth path for this role could consist of a Specialist or a Leadership route.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Interacts with clients attending client, architect, and contractor meetings, reviewing structural documentation, and supervising/mentoring junior staff.</li>
<li>Oversight of design calculations, preparation of the construction documents, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, site reviews, and RFI responses.</li>
<li>Coordinates information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett &amp; Pless quality levels.</li>
<li>Performs QA/QC of work performed by others.</li>
<li>Mentors and provides oversight to engineering team. Responsible for the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team, as well as training and career development.</li>

What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Master’s degree preferred.</li>
<li>Active Professional Engineer license and/or SE.</li>
<li>8+ years’ experience required in structural engineering, specifically in building design.</li>
<li>People management experience is preferred</li>
<li>Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Tekla Structural Designer (TSD), ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.</li>
<li>Project management experience/ability is required.</li>
<li>Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems; including but not limited to steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Revit is preferred.</li>
<li>Client management experience is preferred.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to completion.</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter and always willing to listen, learn, and improve.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required.</li>
