AmericanAg®, a global provider of diversified reinsurance services, is looking for a Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Research Intern to join our Research & Product Development team next summer in our office in Schaumburg, Illinois. The Research & Product Development team is responsible for conducting market and risk research, generating insights, and developing innovative insurance products to meet evolving client needs.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry and contribute to meaningful projects. We are looking for students who will be between their junior and senior years of college during the summer of 2026 with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and an interest in developing an understanding of insurance products and reinsurance programs.

The P&C Insurance Research Intern will be responsible for:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data that is used to provide information and insights to our clients
  • Analyzing insurance policy language, creating policy language comparisons, and reporting on the findings
  • Researching insurance product filings to gather competitive intelligence to determine trends in the marketplace and opportunities to enhance product offerings
  • Assisting with research and data collection for white papers
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify and automate data collection, analysis, and reporting processes
  • Collaborating effectively across departments to gather additional data and insights
  • Preparing materials for presentations
  • Assisting the Research & Product Development team in monitoring projects, timelines, and deliverables to clients

What you will bring to this position:

  • Research experience – gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized while working on different projects
  • Insurance knowledge or currently pursuing a degree in insurance, business, or a related field (preferred)

  • Competitive pay of $27.00 per hour, based on a 37.5-hour work week
  • Flexible work schedule with the option to work 8.33 hours per day for nine days and have the tenth day off (every other Friday)
  • Option to work from home every other Friday (that is not a Friday off)
