Unit Overview
An exciting opportunity awaits as you begin your career on a specialized neurological unit. This unit offers an exceptional learning environment where nurses develop expertise in a wide range of neurological conditions while sharpening clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.

Our fast-paced unit cares for patients with stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and other complex neurological conditions. As a Joint Commission–accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, we manage a high-acuity patient population.

As a Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, we collaborate with a specialized multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizure disorders using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology. Nurses work closely with physicians, technologists, and allied health professionals in an environment that values nursing expertise, teamwork, and compassionate care.

Requirements

• Telemetry experience required
• Current New York State RN License (required)
• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification highly preferred

Schedule Requirements

• Rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights – D/E/N)
• Weekends and holidays required
• On-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as unit needs require
• URMC will consider 36 or 48 hours straight time
