Role Overview
This position requires the Microbiology Technician to support laboratory and environmental monitoring services, including sample handling, incubation, testing, reporting, and compliance-based documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform environmental monitoring of classified areas, including receipt of samples, incubation, reading of results, reporting, and data approval
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure all systems are operating properly
- Carry out daily lab activities to maintain quality, efficiency, and turnaround time
- Perform technical testing, record results, analyze data, and interpret findings
- Identify microorganisms found in samples of liquids and other substances
- Document work accurately, clearly, and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements
- Perform material QC and growth support testing
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills while efficiently moving between task types
- Show initiative, organization, and a continuous improvement mindset by identifying and pitching process enhancements
- Follow Quantus SOPs, customer procedures, and industry best practices
- Build strong customer relationships by offering support beyond daily task assignments and leveraging Quantus’s knowledge base to strengthen customer environmental monitoring programs
Requirements:
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
- Computer literacy, including MacOS, Microsoft Office, email, and ability to learn custom database/software applications
- At least 1 year of related experience in the Life Sciences services industry, a related field, or equivalent education
- Experience working within GMP/GDP environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions (bending, kneeling, sitting, standing)
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel required: local
- Must be able to pass a drug and background check
- Location: Blue Bell, PA
