As a Pipefitting Foreman, you'll be a hands-on leader, guiding a crew of three or more workers to accomplish diverse trades and labor work. Your exceptional skill and knowledge of pipefitting will be paramount to effectively carry out your duties. You'll actively participate in the work alongside your team, setting the pace and demonstrating proper methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Clearly convey instructions from supervisors to your crew, ensuring work gets started efficiently by assigning immediate tasks to individual team members. You'll work alongside your team, setting the pace and demonstrating proper work methods.
- On-Site Resource Management: Ensure that necessary plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are readily available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
- Problem-Solving & Communication: Obtain crucial information or decisions from supervisors on problems that arise during work. You'll also maintain current knowledge and answer questions from other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
- Productivity & Quality Assurance: Ensure there's enough work to keep everyone in the crew busy. You'll check work in progress and when finished to verify that supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
- Safety & Compliance: Lead other workers to follow instructions and meet deadlines, while always assuring that safety and housekeeping rules are strictly followed.
- Reporting & Accountability: Report to superintendents and project managers on the status and progress of work, as well as the causes of any work delays. You'll also answer questions from supervisors on overall work operations and problems.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in the pipefitting trade.
- Technical Mastery: Thorough knowledge of piping blueprints, specifications, and codes, as well as other major craft blueprints.
- System Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of all plumbing and piping systems.
- Exceptional Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees and clients on a professional level.
- Supervisory Acumen: The ability to effectively supervise multiple employees.
- Project Management Skills: The ability to schedule projects and meet deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: A strong attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in all work.
