Our Classroom in School 12 (Troy, NY) is seeking a Universal Pre-K Teacher that will:


  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children, meeting UPK School District requirements (including Common Core Standards).
  • Use age-appropriate and positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior.
  • Build relationships with staff and families through positive and professional communication, creating a welcoming environment, respecting diversity, and encouraging parent participation in the program.
  • Collaborate with teacher assistants and service providers.
  • Enhance the continuation of learning between home and school by conducting two home visits and two parent/teacher conferences each year, as applicable for Head Start children.
  • Complete all required paperwork as required by CEO and the School District, including meals counts, attendance, daily health logs, etc. in a timely manner. Complete lesson plans, individualization goals, anecdotal records, and assessments.
  • Utilize daily routines such as diapering, toilet training, hand washing, mealtimes, transitions, and playground time to promote learning and meaningful conversations with young children.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education required.
  • A New York State certification in Pre-Kindergarten (General Ed. Or Special Ed) or B-2 certification required.
  • Experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S without the need for Visa Sponsorship.

  • Full Time-35 Hour Work Week Monday-Friday 730am-3pm. Follows Troy City School District calendar.
