We are seeking a Machining Estimator to join a custom machine shop on the north side of Milwaukee for a direct hire.
Pay: $60,000 - 100,000
Description:
Under the direction of the Sr. Contract Machining Project Manager, the Machining Estimator is responsible for quoting machined or fabricated components for various departments and industries. The Machining Estimator will use their past experience to estimate required processes, time, materials, subcontracting, and secondary services to manufacture a part and determine a profitable yet competitive price for manufacturing.
Principal Accountabilities:
Review customer supplied drawings, gather information on requirements and scope of work to determine manufacturing costs.
Calculate manufacturing costs using established labor and overhead rates, raw material, and secondary process requirements
Support project management team to determine and develop processes, equipment requirements, programming and setup requirements, operations, material, labor and routing to perform the work.
Communicate with customers on RFQ proposals
Work with project management team to understand production schedules and lead times.
Work with suppliers to research and attain pricing for materials and services.
Assist in purchase order (PO) review and acceptance.
Assist in purchasing, subcontracting, and preparation of work instructions for new projects.
Ensure all customer requirements are defined and financially accounted for.
Coordinate and implement cost saving measures attaining multiple bids per job for purchased material or services.
Ensure the completion of all paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Ability to multi-task several issues and jobs.
Flexibility to work overtime when needed or requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Recognize, report, and correct errors.
Commits to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
Provide support to manager.

Nature and Scope:
The company’s headquarters operate in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, with a remote satellite office in Indiana. The Menomonee Falls facility coordinates production for all customers; metal die stamping, CNC machining, Waterjet cutting and medical cleaning capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school education or GED.
Immediate Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; AutoCAD, Solidworks, and CAM software.
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years prior experience in machine shop estimating/quoting in a job shop environment, including knowledge of programming, setup, and operation of a diverse range of CNC equipment.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as technical specifications, technical procedures, bills of materials, quality requirements, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write standard documentation.
Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerances, proportions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of estimating/quoting medium to high complexity parts
Prior experience running CNC equipment- CNC Mills, CNC lathes, Wire EDM, Waterjet, etc.
Experience with machining of different types of materials
Engineering experience.
Journeyman’s card – CNC or Tool & Die
Supervisory; Management training certificate.
Solidworks
Basic business knowledge.
