Position Summary
The Professor at Mech-Tech Institute is responsible for delivering instruction in technical and academic programs in alignment with approved curricula and institutional, state, and federal standards. The primary objective of this role is to facilitate student learning, foster an inclusive academic environment, and contribute to the overall development of students in technical, professional, and personal areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver courses in accordance with the approved curriculum and institutional policies.

Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote active, hands-on learning.

Assess student academic progress through exams, assignments, projects, and other formative and summative activities.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, grades, and compliance requirements using institutional platforms.

Advise, guide, and motivate students to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Ensure compliance with accreditation processes and internal/external audits (e.g., Department of Education, ACCSC, state and federal agencies).

Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and institutional activities.

Promote and enforce compliance with institutional policies, codes of conduct, and safety regulations.

Stay current in the field of expertise and in best practices in pedagogy by engaging in professional development, certifications, and training.
Job Requirements
Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in the area of specialization or related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Education, Sciences, or discipline related to the program taught.
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level or relevant professional/industry experience.

Familiarity with teaching methodologies for technical and higher education programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong command of the academic and technical subject matter taught.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in educational technologies and learning management systems (LMS).

Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate academic leadership, and show institutional commitment.

Sensitivity to diverse populations and the ability to foster an inclusive learning environment.
Working Conditions

Academic setting in classrooms, laboratories, and technical workshops.

Availability to teach day, evening, and/or weekend courses based on institutional needs.
