Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Portales, NM is seeking four full-time Special Education Teachers to support resource classrooms for the upcoming academic year. This onsite contract position runs from December 8, 2025, through May 21, 2026, with a 37.5-hour work week. The caseload includes one elementary resource room and three high school resource rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in resource classroom settings.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Assist students toward academic and social-emotional growth within a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification/license valid in New Mexico.
- Experience working with K-12 students with special needs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and adapt instructional strategies.
- Willingness to assist with pending licensure requirements if applicable.
