Temporary Life Enrichment Specialist

$16.25 - $20.78

This position is primarily responsible for creating, coordinating, and facilitating meaningful and engaging activities for residents in both non-memory care and memory care neighborhoods in Crestwood Assisted Living. Provides resident engagement using one-on-one interactions, intergenerational programming, and industry best practices in developing monthly calendars. Supports the Crestwood Interdisciplinary team related to service plan implementation specifically related to activity/program participation per resident. Works collaboratively with the Wellness and Enrichment and Assisted Living teams. Ensures that programs are delivered in compliance with all state standards and regulations for Assisted Living Facilities. Additionally, this position will provide occasional support to the Wellness and Enrichment team as needed.

Requirements:

Education/Experience: Must possess an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) or at least two years of experience facilitating and coordinating programs, ideally for older adults in a supportive environment.

Certifications: Must be willing to obtain or work toward Activity Director Certification (ADC) or Activity Assistant Certification (AAC); must have or obtain First-Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Population Experience: Must have experience and/or a strong desire to work with individuals who have dementia and/or physical limitations.

Interpersonal/Collaboration Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to effectively work with leadership, Wellness and Enrichment team, staff, residents, and community members; must exhibit a positive attitude, professionalism, and the ability to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Technical/Communication Skills: Must have computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Physical/Driving Requirements: Must be physically able to transport residents and assist with ambulation; must possess a current Virginia Driver’s License in good standing.

Independence & Adaptability: Must be self-motivated, able to understand and carry out oral/written instructions, perform duties with limited supervision, schedule time wisely, and accommodate changes.
