Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school located north of Dallas, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired for a full-time, onsite contract position during the current school year. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting students with visual impairments through both direct instruction and consultative services.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct teaching services tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
- Conducting evaluations to assess students' visual and educational needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans
- Offering consultative support to families, educators, and staff regarding visual impairments and acmodations
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong munication skills for effective collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to conduct thorough evaluations and develop tailored instructional strategies
