Position Overview
The Sr. Estimator will be responsible for conducting detailed cost analysis and estimating project costs for a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in project management and budgeting to develop accurate estimates that align with company goals and client expectations, ensuring successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed cost analysis for construction projects
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates including material, labor, and overhead costs
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather project specifications and requirements
- Utilize AGTEK and HeavyBid software for quantity takeoffs and cost estimations
- Assess risks and develop contingency plans to support budgeting and pricing strategies
- Communicate effectively with clients and vendors during the estimation process
- Negotiate pricing and terms with subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain and organize construction documentation related to estimating
- Stay updated on industry trends and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive estimates
- Provide support during the bidding process and assist with final project proposals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry
- Proven knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, including earthwork, concrete, and utilities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in estimating software such as AGTEK and HeavyBid
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with budgeting and financial analysis in construction projects
- Familiarity with heavy civil projects such as bridge, roadway, and pond construction
