This role involves a blend of database administration and software development skills.& & & Key Responsibilities: & Database Design and Development:& & Designing and implementing PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects to support application requirements.& & SQL Development and Optimization:& & Writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, scripts and code for data manipulation, retrieval, and reporting, ensuring high performance and efficiency.& & Data Modeling and Management:& & Creating and managing logical and physical data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security through appropriate constraints, triggers and validation rules.& & Performance Tuning:& & Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies such as index optimization, query rewriting, and database configuration adjustments.& & Data migration and ETL:& & Developing and executing scripts and processes for data migration, transformation, and loading (ETL) between different systems or database versions.& & Collaboration and Integration:& & Working closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions with applications and ensure seamless data flow.& & Troubleshooting and Support:& & Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, providing technical support, and ensuring the stability and availability of the PostgreSQL environment.& & & Documentation:& & Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for database schemas, queries, processes, and configurations.& & Security and Backup:& & Implementing and maintaining database security measures, access controls, and backup and recovery procedures to protect sensitive data.& & Staying current:& & Keeping abreast of the latest PostgreSQL features, tools, and industry best practices.& &
