Highland Consulting Group, a construction specific recruiting firm specializing in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, is working with a well-established General Contractor in the Philadelphia, PA area to find an experienced Construction Estimator. This is a permanent, full-time position. Successful candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of general construction estimating experience for commercial projects and have strong computer skills.
Key Responsibilities”
- Perform take-offs, price materials and labor and analyze data.
- Qualify subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Provide hard bid & conceptual estimates of projects.
- Develop and maintain cost databases.
- Provide independent estimates of change orders.
- Complete bid proposals and support early preconstruction activities.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator for a General Contractor with projects larger than $3M.
- Must have the ability to create conceptual and hard bids for Design / Build projects.
- Strong knowledge of estimating carpentry and rough framing.
- Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient computer skills including estimating and industry specific software.
- Strong pre-construction skills, including estimating, quantity survey, value engineering and constructability reviews.

- Anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 annually. As required by local law, Highland Consulting Group believes that the attached salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position.
