Position Title: Adjunct Nursing Faculty –Clinical

Position Summary: Clinical nursing faculty responsible for supervision of pre-licensure clinical course in accordance with the course syllabi and College of Nursing and affiliate agency guidelines.

1.Teach a critical care clinical course for pre-licensure nursing majors. Assume and fulfill teaching responsibilities commensurate with the position by meeting with the course lead or level coordinator on a regular basis to discuss clinical course objectives, grading criteria, student's progress, etc.; accepting designated assignments related to clinical teaching inclusive of direct and indirect patient care assignments and supervision of virtual and simulated learning. Additionally, clinical faculty assist in supervising student's progress, completion of clinical competency skills checklists, and a make-up clinical day within the semester; clinical faculty also assume responsibility for improving clinical teaching ability; consulting with course leads or level coordinator prior to initiating changes in the clinical course syllabus.

2. Assist in the planning and implementation of a sound educational program designed to meet the outcomes of the specified course and level.

3.Submits grades, grade book, early alerts, incomplete grade forms, and attendance in accordance with university policies and procedures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Masters prepared nurse with a minimum of two years clinical experience. Teaching experience is preferred. Licensure with the State of Louisiana or compact RN license. Minimum of two years of experience in specialty area. Possesses qualities of integrity, initiative, and good judgment with high ethical standards. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.

Work Conditions

Work 8-hour or 12-hour clinical shift. Use of online learning management system (LMS). Complete required onboarding process. Communicate with students, staff and colleagues. Other requirements as specified by a job description. Agency may require faculty attestation information.
