Job Title: ArcGIS Platform Engineer/Administrator
Location: Houston, TX (4 days onsite)
Job type: Fulltime
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online environments.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance of GIS infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and availability; implement proactive measures to ensure uptime.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies.
- Automate administrative tasks using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools.
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and IT teams to support application deployment and integration.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support disaster recovery planning and backup strategies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise and related components.
- Strong understanding of GIS architecture, web services, and server configurations.
- Experience with patch management, monitoring tools, and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure.
Preferred:
- Experience with federated ArcGIS environments and load balancing.
- Exposure to ServiceNow, JIRA, or other ITSM tools.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive them to resolution.
