Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting focused on Emotional Support. The role supports students with emotional and behavioral challenges in a highly structured environment. It requires comfort managing a caseload that may include providing toileting assistance.
Location:
- Middle school campus in the Naperville, IL area
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with emotional and behavioral difficulties
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Provide a safe and supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student behavior and adjust interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with families and staff
Qualifications:
- Licensed Special Education Teacher with LBS1 certification
- Experience working with students exhibiting emotional and behavioral challenges preferred
- Ability to handle toileting assistance and personal care needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Schedule and Contract Details:
- Contract duration through May 2026
- 37.5 hours per week, typically scheduled from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM
- Onsite position at the school facility
