SR GIS TECHNICIAN - CONTRACTOR

we-do-IT Inc. (WDI) provides geospatial and data services for electric, gas, water and telecommunications utilities. Our team has deep expertise in the design, construct and maintenance workflows that a Utility utilizes to deliver safe and reliable energy to its customers. We are looking for a motivated GIS professional to support utility and pipeline projects by delivering accurate mapping, enhancing data integrity, and driving enterprise GIS solutions that help ensure safe and reliable energy delivery.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour ($58,240 to $70,720 annually)

Bonuses: Annual discretionary bonus based on personal and company performance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create presentations, workflow diagrams, and dashboards to communicate GIS processes and results
  • Support and troubleshoot GIS applications, assisting business users and division staff
  • Develop project plans, coordinate enterprise GIS initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors
  • Document business requirements, software objectives, and end user specifications
  • Handle data queries, perform QA/QC, and deliver accurate utility and pipeline mapping solutions
  • Train end users on GIS tools, including Esri Dashboards and Viewers
  • Stay current with emerging GIS technologies to enhance workflows and results


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

Bachelors degree in GIS or related field and two years related experience performing geospatial analysis and providing mapping solutions in the Gas Utilities or Energy Sector. Certified GISP preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, explaining technical or complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge.

NUMERIC SKILLS:

Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric, and geometric operations, analyses involving ratios, percentages and moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods.


COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • GIS Platforms: GE Smallworld, Esri ArcGIS Pro, Utility Network (UN), UPDM, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise, Portal, Web AppBuilder, Field Operations, Mobile Apps
  • Database/Programming: SQL Server, SAP, Python
  • Applications: Construction Management


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available to work across US time zones as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
