Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in Sylacauga, AL, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on delivering exceptional educational support tailored to students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt classroom teaching methods and materials to meet student requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and behavior to inform instructional adjustments
- Create a positive, nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and success
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and guidelines
- Strong munication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
