POSITION TITLE: Systems Administrator

FLSA CLASS: Exempt
SALARY GRADE: 11 ($67,573 - $99,336)
Position Summary
Provides technology support in the deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of hardware, software, communications, and peripheral equipment. Monitors, logs, tracks, and resolves problems for multiple operating systems, server and client applications, and office technology equipment. Identifies and resolves or escalates reported technology issues to ensure minimal interruption of day-to-day operations. Assists or provides backup support as needed to other departmental units.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Information Technology Planning
- Develop plans for server implementation and architecture of infrastructure required to support business strategies.
- Act as project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware.
- Conducts capacity planning to accommodate current and future growth.
- Coordinate and collaborate with all business units, application vendors, and contractors to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate systems.
- Establish and implement procedures and technologies to ensure server and network security.
- Information Technology and Communication Equipment Maintenance
- Provide computer staging and deployment processes for all departments.
- Stage and deploy new cellular and\or smart phone devices.
- Install VoIP phones upon request.
- Perform routine computer and peripheral equipment maintenance in all Jo-Carroll Energy office locations.
- Assist with computer, VoIP phone, cellular and smartphone device, printer, server, and other peripheral equipment upgrades and installations.
- Information Technology Systems Maintenance
- Plan and implement server and network system upgrades.
- Performs server application updates, patches, troubleshooting, or other maintenance duties.
- Performs file system configuration and management, define and perform server backups and recovery procedures.
- Maintain and monitor Mobile Device Management system.
- Information Technology Help Desk System Support
- Monitor and assist with the help desk ticket system.
- Serves as cornerstone for escalated issues and provides timely response to employee tickets
- Perform basic end user training for a variety of software applications and computer systems.
- Escalate unresolved support issues to manager.
- Provide guidance to junior member of the team.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all Departments.
- Information Technology Documentation
- Participates in the creation and review of change requests per change management policy.
- Create and maintain an accurate inventory of all cooperative information technology equipment/software/applications and provide an annual report to manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for server and network infrastructure.
- Deliver weekly and\or monthly status reports to manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Accountabilities
- With supervision, technical contributor to problem resolution and escalation related to user support of office automation and business critical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related technical field.
- At least 10 years direct technical support experience or equivalency.
- Advanced knowledge of at least 3 of the following: Windows Server, Linux, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, Active Directory, Statefull firewall, SAN, VMware, or VoIP.
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of hardware, software, communications, and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and analyze data.
- Training in customer service and support or operations is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Regular business office hours between Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Frequent work outside of regular business hours is required.
- Generally accepted office working conditions.
- Occasional day and overnight travel is required.
- Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to, stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and twist upper body.
- Must be able to lift and carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
