We are seeking an experienced Transportation Structural Engineer for an onsite role in Hunt Valley, MD. This position focuses on the design and management of bridge and transportation structures projects, including both new construction and rehabilitation.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland with deep expertise in AASHTO LRFD bridge design, proven project management experience, and a strong track record of delivering complex transportation structural projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the structural design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and QA/QC compliance.
- Prepare contract bid documents and oversee construction-phase services.
- Coordinate with subconsultants and internal design teams.
- Mentor junior design engineers and drafting staff.
- Serve as a technical advisor and client-facing representative, building strong professional relationships.
Must Have
- 10–15 years of relevant structural design experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland.
- Proven experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design.
- Familiarity with Maryland Department of Transportation standards.
- Strong knowledge of design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, SAP2000, or equivalent).
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel.
- Experience with STAAD.Pro or other advanced structural design tools.
