Join a dynamic team in Sioux City, where you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of various sizes and colors of brick. This position involves hands-on tasks such as blending, repacking, cutting, waxing, and hand-setting bricks. You will operate equipment to secure banding material around brick straps and apply cross straps on cubes. This role requires physical activity, including lifting, twisting, and bending.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to place banding material and apply cross straps on brick cubes.
- Assist with machine and strapping tool operations and repairs.
- Lift banding rolls weighing approximately 40 pounds and edge protectors weighing 25 pounds to a height of four feet.
- Cut brick faces for display panels and manage the brick movement from conveyor to saw, washing, drying, and storage.
- Inspect and grade bricks based on company standards, including chips, cracks, size, distortion, and color range.
- Ensure safe lifting and body positioning to prevent injury from repetitive tasks.
Essential Skills
- General labor experience of at least 3 months, with tasks requiring prolonged standing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work.
- Basic understanding of machine operation and maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Ability to operate packaging equipment is desirable.
- Dependability, especially in monitoring kiln operations and performing preventive maintenance.

Work Environment
Work in a facility heated during winter, though without air conditioning in summer, alongside 100-130 employees from office and production areas. The dress code requires closed-toed leather work boots and prohibits offensive clothing. Jeans and a t-shirt are appropriate, with a light jacket recommended. A five-day work schedule, typically Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with possible overtime on weekends. Shift work is available, with a second shift operating from 3 PM to 11 PM on a rotating schedule.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.95 - $24.44/hr.
