$1 differential for 2nd or 3rd shift ($26/hr)
1st shift is $25 with per diem and $30 local.
Per diem for 80 miles out $120 days worked.
DOD welder- will be tested on their ability to weld a 2G (horizontal) 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) with the FCAW (Fluxcore) welding process using .052 wire. All 3 tests will be done on a 3/8" plate V Groove with a steel backing strip. They will be responsible for knowing how to load welding wire into the machine and basic safety knowledge of using a grinder. All completed testes will be inspected visually and each test will have 1 face and 1 root bend
For the respirator test you must be clean shaven

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Be able to pass ABS test in FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
• Weld test is a flux core test using .052 wire vertical and horizontal.
• Must have 4 years' experience with Stick/Flux/MIG welding.
Knowledge of materials and methods involved in construction.
• Basic blueprint reading
• All welders need to have their basic hand tools - Shield, wire brush, chipping, pea grinder, wrenches, screwdriver, etc.
• A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
• Must have the ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using flux-cored arc.
Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
Use fire suppression methods in industrial emergencies.
Gouge metals, using the air-arc gouging process.
Troubleshoot problems with all equipment as it arises.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Prior shipyard experience a plus
• Fabrication experience in a Military environment a plus
