Job Overview: The farm hand will work daily under the supervision of the owner or

farm manager either on the water or at a land-based facility. Daily tasks will be varied

depending on the needs of the farm and the weather conditions. Duties that could be

assigned on the vessel include operating the vessel, flipping cages, cleaning cages or

bags, tumbling oysters, sorting oysters, harvesting oysters, cleaning oysters, installation

of gear, repair of gear or any other task associated with the maintenance of the farm.

Land-based task could include but are not limited to: power washing bags, building

mesh bags, splicing lines, cleaning oysters, bagging/counting oysters, cleaning vessels,

performing periodic maintenance on vessels and trailers, sanding/painting of vessels,

etc.
