Overview
The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA, is seeking a professional and dependable Bell Staff member to join our Guest Services team. This frontline position is responsible for creating a memorable arrival and departure experience for guests through courteous, attentive, and efficient service. The ideal candidate is polished, personable, and committed to delivering hospitality of the highest standard. This role requires flexibility, including occasional overnight and overtime shifts.
Key Requirements
- Availability: Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Availability for any shift between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM is required, with the ability to work the midnight/overnight shift as needed. Must also be willing to work overtime when required.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and provide a current driving record with 0 or more points.
- Experience: Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred, especially in a luxury or high-volume environment.
- Professionalism: Must be dependable, well-groomed, clean-cut, and maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet and assist all arriving and departing guests with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency.
- Escort guests to the front desk or guest rooms while safely transporting and delivering luggage.
- Acquaint guests with hotel amenities, restaurants, and services, including restaurant hours, areas of interest, and at least one or two facts about the hotel’s history.
- Provide accurate directions, respond to guest inquiries, and offer personalized recommendations for both on-property and local experiences.
- Assist valet staff with parking and retrieving guest vehicles when needed.
- Safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Maintain awareness of guest movement in and around the lobby to ensure timely, proactive service.
- Support the overall guest experience by anticipating needs and responding promptly.
- Participate in training for the overnight shift, and be prepared to fill in during overnight hours as needed.

Working Conditions
- Position requires standing, walking, and lifting luggage throughout the shift.
- May include periods outdoors, particularly while assisting guests with vehicles or luggage.
- Flexibility for midnight/overnight hours and occasional overtime is required.
