Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday
Days Off: Monday and Tuesday
Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on qualifications)
Reports to: Lab ManagerPosition Summary:Sensient Natural Ingredients is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Lab Assistant to join our Microbiology Lab in Turlock, CA. This is an entry-level role ideal for recent college graduates or individuals interested in gaining experience in a laboratory environment. The Lab Assistant will support daily lab operations with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and accuracy. No prior lab experience is required, but candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of organization and responsibility.Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize lab glassware, tools, and work surfaces.
• Sterilize biological waste and lab materials using an autoclave, following all safety protocols.
• Assist with lab preparation tasks including:
  • Labeling petri dishes
  • Organizing and sorting samples for testing
  • Preparing basic materials under supervision
• Record temperature and basic observations in daily logbooks and forms.
• Restock lab supplies from the warehouse and manage inventory of consumables.
• Break down cardboard boxes and maintain general cleanliness of the lab.
• Provide additional support to Microbiology Lab Technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in biology or a related science is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Comfortable working with cleaning agents and operating sterilization equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Available to work weekends (Saturday–Wednesday schedule).
