Job DescriptionPrimary Function
The Maintenance Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability within a research and development environment. This internship provides exposure to industrial systems and maintenance best practices while assisting experienced maintenance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all Ampacet policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the R&D Center.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and learn to document work performed in the maintenance tracking system (JDE).
- Help inspect and maintain systems such as compressors, HVAC, de-ionized water, and other facility equipment.
- Participate in parts inventory management and sourcing support.
- Learn to interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics under supervision.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Shadow experienced technicians to gain knowledge of PLCs, AC/DC motors, drives, pumps, gearboxes, extruders, and other key equipment.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a technical, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance program
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
- Interest in pursuing a career in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
