Boys & Girls Aid is hiring a full-time Skills Trainer in Portland, OR.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay: $20.00 – $22.08/hour

About The Nest Program

The Nest provides specialized support for foster families and youth ages 4–9. Staff help children develop essential skills through individualized and group activities, both in the community and at The Nest location. This program requires flexibility, patience, and experience-but the rewards are outstanding.

What You'll Do

As a Skills Trainer, you'll:

  • Design and lead skill-building activities for youth
  • Support positive behavior and communication
  • Guide recreational and cultural activities onsite and in the community
  • Transport youth to appointments using your own car or agency van
  • Conduct nonviolent crisis interventions (NVCI)
  • Collaborate with foster parents and staff to help youth succeed

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in social services, mental health, or caregiving with youth
    OR
    Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or sociology + 1 year experience
  • Valid OR/WA driver's license, auto insurance, and clean driving record
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
