Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Measurement Technician to join our oil and gas operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of gas and liquid measurement equipment at our various field locations. This position requires technical expertise in measurement systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will work independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with the operations team to ensure accurate measurement and reporting of production data.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, repair, and maintain gas and liquid measurement equipment including flow meters, RTUs, transmitters, and related instrumentation
  • Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with measurement equipment and systems
  • Collect measurement data and maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Generate reports on equipment performance, calibration results, and measurement data
  • Identify and implement improvements to measurement systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Respond to emergency calls and troubleshoot critical measurement issues as needed
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to minimize production disruptions during maintenance activities
  • Stay current with industry technologies and measurement standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of flow measurement principles and equipment (orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, Coriolis meters, etc.)
  • Experience with RTUs, PLCs, SCADA systems, and related automation equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with measurement software and reporting systems
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with industry standards (AGA, API) for measurement
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate, associate degree, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field tasks

Role Details:

Pay: $27-$32/hr

Location: Local to - Carlsbad, Loving, Hobbs, Eunice, Jal, Pecos, Monahans, Midland & Odessa

Schedule: 8/6 rotation, 12 hour shifts
