Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager with a background in big box retail construction and/or fast paced construction to lead projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at problem-solving, and is passionate about building lasting relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations on construction projects (both ground-up and remodels) for major retail brands.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and safety compliance.
- Lead site teams to ensure quality control, cost control, and timely delivery.
- Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct site walks, inspections, and status updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reports.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Proven experience with big box retail projects (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco, Lowe’s, Home Depot).
- Strong understanding of construction documents, permitting, building codes, and inspections.
- Proficient in construction scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with fast-track retail rollout programs.
