Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time special education teaching position is available for a middle school classroom in Aurora, CO. This role is designed to support students in a Social Skills Support (SSN) setting, supported by three paraprofessionals. The position requires an active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification and prior experience in Colorado schools is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored instruction to middle school students with special needs in a structured SSN classroom
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Providing direct support to students, including physically assisting with lifting and personal care as needed
- Maintaining classroom management and adapting teaching strategies to meet student requirements
- Participating in ongoing professional development and school meetings
Qualifications and experience:
- Active CDE special education teaching certification
- Experience working in Colorado schools preferred
- Ability to work onsite full time at the school location
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility and hygiene needs

This is a contract role for the current school year (CSY). The classroom environment includes dedicated paraprofessional support to assist with student needs.
