Job Description

Position Summary: The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in industrial electrical systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety standards.

Job Status:

  • Full-Time
  • Hourly
  • Non-Exempt
  • Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Systems Maintenance
  2. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
  3. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical components
  4. Troubleshoot electrical failures and implement solutions
  5. Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  6. Install and maintain power distribution systems
  7. Service industrial controls and PLC systems
  8. Safety and Compliance
  9. Follow all electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols
  10. Ensure compliance with NEC standards and local codes
  11. Maintain clean and safe work areas
  12. Document all electrical work and maintenance activities
  13. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
  14. Equipment and Operations Support
  15. Support production equipment maintenance
  16. Respond to emergency electrical issues
  17. Assist in equipment upgrades and installations
  18. Perform routine electrical inspections
  19. Maintain inventory of electrical parts and supplies

Education and Certifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or related field
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred
  • Valid electrical certification required
  • Additional technical certifications beneficial

Experience / Skills / Abilities: Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years industrial electrical experience
  • Knowledge of:
    1. AC/DC power systems
    2. Motor controls and VFDs
    3. PLC systems
    4. Industrial automation
    5. Electrical testing equipment
    6. Power distribution systems

General Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication capabilities
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Team collaboration skills

  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Weekend rotations may be required
