About Us
Abe Brown Ministries (ABM) is a faith-based, non-profit organization serving the Tampa Bay area for more than 45 years. Our inspHire Program supports individuals with lived incarceration experience—regardless of faith background—by providing employment resources and reentry support throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, and Pasco counties.
We are currently seeking an inspHire Career Coach to guide clients through the full employment-placement process. This role helps participants apply professional development principles, set achievable career goals, and develop long-term strategies for success in the workplace.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement & Support

Meet with clients during Professional Development sessions to assess skills and prepare forecast reports for job matching in the ETO database.

Support clients in completing core deliverables: Wonderlic Test, resume, State of Florida application, and mock interview.

Ensure completion of Interest Inventory Assessments and Employment Profiles.

Conduct mid-term and final evaluations, documenting strengths and growth areas.

Review case notes in ETO to provide tailored coaching and employment planning.

Deliver case management and assessments aligned with organizational needs.

Lead group Employability Workshops using case studies and workplace-relevant content.

Confirm pre-interview drug screens are completed and cleared.

Provide client transportation to interviews when needed.

Debrief after interviews and support follow-up communication.

Coordinate with the Business Development Manager and Case Manager to prepare clients for their first day (attire, documentation, expectations).

Maintain consistent contact with clients to address job-related concerns and record updates in ETO.

Organize vocational training opportunities through community partners.
Collaboration
-
Participate in weekly meetings with the Business Development Manager to discuss client readiness and job prospects.

Work with the Professional Development Instructor to schedule and support employability workshops.

Assist with the planning and delivery of professional development modules as needed.
Community Partnership Work
-
Learn and understand local employer needs while promoting the value that returning citizens can bring to the workforce.

Complete 90-day site visits to strengthen relationships during client probation periods.
-
Coordinate community service activities to expand ABM’s presence.
-
Conduct outreach that informs new and potential partners about available services and resources.
Administrative Responsibilities
-
Stay updated on federal, state, and county policies related to reentry and justice-involved individuals.

Prepare reports, memos, and other documentation supporting ABM’s inspHire Program.

Ensure all data and paperwork are accurate and submitted promptly.

Maintain proper documentation of client progress, including receipts and required forms.

Manage the full Fidelity Bond Certification process when applicable.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Career Coach Certification is highly desired. If not certified, candidates must obtain certification while employed.

Minimum of two years of experience in human services.

Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new software.

Demonstrated experience in business-to-business sales or a performance-driven field.

Experience working with underserved communities and individuals in crisis.

Strong documentation, writing, and communication skills.

Ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse populations.

Motivational skills and a passion for empowering others.

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding clients and colleagues.

Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle legally.

Professional appearance and adherence to company dress code.

Prior job coaching or nonprofit experience is a plus.
