The Director of Volunteer Recruitment and Training will lead efforts to attract, onboard, and develop volunteers who are passionate about our mission. This role also oversees the design and delivery of training programs that support both programmatic excellence and philanthropic engagement. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder, educator, and strategist who thrives in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement

· Develop and implement strategies to recruit diverse volunteers across all program areas

· Cultivate partnerships with schools, community groups, faith-based organizations, and corporate volunteer programs

· Manage volunteer outreach campaigns, events, and digital engagement efforts

· Oversee volunteer onboarding, orientation, and placement processes

· Monitor volunteer satisfaction and retention, and implement feedback-driven improvements

Training and Program Development

· Design and deliver training programs for volunteers, staff, and board members focused on program delivery, community engagement, and fundraising

· Create materials and workshops that build philanthropic literacy and donor stewardship skills

· Collaborate with program managers to ensure training aligns with service delivery goals

· Evaluate training effectiveness and adapt content based on participant feedback and outcomes

Leadership and Strategy

· Serve as a key advisor on volunteer and donor engagement strategy

· Track and report on volunteer metrics, training participation, and impact outcomes

· Stay informed on best practices in volunteer management, adult learning, and nonprofit fundraising

· Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, training, or community engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training programs
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with the cultural and economic landscape of the communities served
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in messaging and outreach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing philanthropic education or donor stewardship programs
  • Proficiency with volunteer management software or CRM platforms
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
