Summary

Aunt Jenn's is a licensed childcare center in Kingston NY. We have been providing care to the community since 2010. Our childcare center is currently hiring enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team! We are hiring for a lead teacher for our aftercare program.
As a childcare staff member, you will have the opportunity to work with toddlers, preschool aged, and school aged children, helping them learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. We are looking for candidates who are patient, kind, and have a genuine love for working with children. We offer on-the-job training and ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure that our staff members are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to provide the best care for our children.

Duties

Teacher duties are always first to provide a safe, clean, and secure learning environment above all else.

Hours are Monday-Friday ideally 11:00-5:30 but can be slightly altered for the right candidate.

As the afternoon lead, you will collaborate with the morning staff on activities or duties that still need to be carried out for the day. You may be required to plan crafts, games, or activities. You may be asked to cover staff members breaks, and planning time.

Other responsibilities will include supervising playtime, assisting with meal and snack times, leading age-appropriate activities, and maintaining a clean and organized childcare space. Lead Teachers should take on the role of guidance and collaborative communication with the Assistant Teachers in their assigned classroom; making sure that classroom responsibilities and plans are being carried out appropriately.The afternoon lead is responsible for making sure all closing duties and procedures are properly done at closing.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of NYS OCFS childcare center regulations


  • Highschool Diploma, or Equivalent


  • Experience working with children is required, preferably in a center-based program


  • Canidates must be able to pass a NYS background check and be 18 years or older



Nice To Haves

  • Infant and Child First Aid/ CPR Certification


  • CDA Training or Certificate


  • College course work in Early Childhood or related field


  • Experience with basic office tasks
