Job Description
Shatzkin Systems, Inc. is a small IT consulting company in the healthcare industry. The focus is at the intersection of IT and Operations, using technology and data to drive business decisions, workflow design and process.
This current opening is to expand our Data Integration team. This includes carrying a data integration project from inception, through the comprehensive testing process and on to production. Data is then used by various reporting teams to drive clinical measures, so quality and accuracy is of utmost importance.
Interactions include working with the internal team, the data owner and their vendor to test and validate data quality and handling applied to support analytics. Includes close coordination with our internal project management team throughout project lifecycle.
Ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for data exploration and identifying patterns and outliers and enjoys working with dynamic data sets and solving problems. Willing to adopt our robust procedures and way of doing things but also provide input about how to make the process better. Systemic approaches for troubleshooting and problem solving are preferred. High attention to detail and striving for perfection are attributes that will benefit a candidate in this role (even though we know perfection isn’t always possible, we’re human, after all).
Position: Full-time, Fully Remote, US Based only.
Compensation: $60–85,000 annual salary. Health benefits package provided. 401K matching.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Clear, concise written and spoken communication skills
· Experience working with Microsoft suite
· Experience working with data sets and some data analysis
· Must be able to work remotely, US based only. Primarily EST hours.
Preferred:
· Familiarity with healthcare messages: HL7 and XML transactions
· Exposure to healthcare data systems or settings
· Knowledge/experience with databases and database architecture
Job Responsibilities:
· Analyze HL7 and XML transactions from various healthcare facilities against standards
· Work with healthcare facilities to understand the data they’re transmitting and where it deviates from
standards; how to properly interpret it
· Identify and document transformations needed to ingest message to meet data model and data
standards for use in downstream analytics
· Test message inputs, transformations and document results
· Work with data owner and vendors to resolve any open issues and validate where the source data
originated from and that it matches their source system
· Perform data quality audits
· Perform all testing related to new subject areas and data sources
· Project tracking and documentation
· Assist with NCQA DAV certification evidence building, and other compliance audit materials linked to
health data submission and transformation
