Job Description

Job Description

Are you passionate about helping students? As an Admissions Counselor at Viterbo University, you'll serve as the primary guide for future nurses, supporting them from their very first questions through the start of their academic journey.

In this full-time 12-month role, you'll have the autonomy to develop innovative recruitment strategies, the chance to collaborate closely with faculty and campus partners, and the satisfaction of being the trusted point of contact for students eager to continue their education. If you're a relationship-builder, a problem-solver, and someone who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, we invite you to join us in advancing Viterbo's tradition of academic excellence and Franciscan values.

Responsibilities

Strategic Program Management

  • Independently develop and implement recruitment strategies that support the unique needs and enrollment goals of Viterbo's health programs.
  • Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach activities and recommend new approaches as needed to improve funnel performance and yield.
  • Evaluate prospective student readiness and fit for both programs, making recommendations to guide the admissions committee or other groups as needed.
  • Recommend appropriate recruitment events, travel opportunities, and outreach investments that align with program priorities and budgetary constraints.

Prospective Student Engagement

  • Act as the key admissions contact for prospective students interested in health programs, providing timely and accurate information on academic programs, licensure pathways, clinical opportunities, and career outcomes.
  • Deliver a personalized and responsive experience across all communication platforms, including email, phone, text, virtual, and in-person engagement.
  • Support students throughout the enrollment process, connecting them with academic advisors, financial aid, and other university services as needed.

Collaboration with Academic Departments

  • Build strong working relationships with faculty and academic leaders in Viterbo's health programs to stay up-to-date on curricular changes, accreditation standards, and clinical or field requirements.
  • Collaborate on program-specific events such as open houses, webinars, and classroom visit days tailored to students exploring healthcare and communication professions.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to departments about prospective student needs, competitor trends, and recruitment performance.
  • Provide opportunities for and collaborate with faculty recruiters or interested faculty to participate in events or travel opportunities as is appropriate.

Marketing and Communication Collaboration

  • Serve as a content and messaging partner to the Marketing and Communications team, offering insights on student interests, key differentiators, and common questions related to each academic program.
  • Recommend and help develop targeted marketing campaigns, communication flows, and web content that resonate with prospective students in health programs.
  • Ensure that recruitment materials, website content, and social media messaging accurately reflect program strengths and student outcomes.

Outreach and Representation

  • Represent Viterbo at recruitment events that align with the health-related programs, including national fairs, high school visits, community colleges, and virtual events.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with educators, advisors, and organizations that serve students interested in dietetics, speech-language pathology, and related professions.
  • Recommend and pursue new outreach opportunities that support long-term pipeline development for both programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support

  • Contribute to the broader admissions team's efforts by assisting with general recruitment activities and cross-training in other academic areas.
  • Participate in institutional initiatives, committees, and enrollment planning efforts to support Viterbo's strategic goals.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and share insights from territory management and academic liaison work with the broader team.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; background or interest in health programs is a plus.
  • Experience working independently.
  • Demonstrated strengths in relationship-building, project management, and data informed decision-making.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to understand necessary credentials or requirements related to Viterbo's health programs.
