Job DescriptionTHE ARC OF THE QUAD CITIES AREA IS SEARCHING FOR A COMPASSIONATE, ORGANIZED, AND DETAIL-ORIENTED PERSON TO JOIN OUR QIDP TEAM!

As a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional, you will be a caseworker for an awesome caseload of adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your role will help promote independence for those we serve by providing support in all areas needed.

This is an exempt position, routinely working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some evenings and weekends, and offering schedule flexibility to ensure that program needs are met.

What are the core Job Responsibilities?

  • Develop implementation strategies for individuals using the Interdisciplinary Team approach, providing linkage to services internally or externally as per recommendations.
    Ensure compliance with federal, DHS, Medicaid, and CARF guidelines, complete documentation, assessments, and progress notes, and monitor services to ensure proper implementation of the person-centered plan.
  • Assist individuals and families in connecting with external providers for coordinated services and natural supports, complete ICAP, organize reviews, and prepare discharge summaries and follow-ups.
  • Participate in meetings with the ISC, develop strategies with individuals and families, and serve as the primary contact for stakeholders.
  • Help obtain prior approvals for additional supports, advocate continuously, maintain clinical records per regulations, address issues proactively, and communicate effectively with all involved.
  • Be available for 24-hour on-call coverage for Residential Alternatives, provide backup support as needed, attend meetings and training, and perform assigned duties.


What are the Qualifications for this position?

  • Education: BA in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited college or as DHS deems appropriate.
  • Driving: Valid driver's license in good standing, appropriate auto insurance, and approval by the Agency's auto insurer for driving agency vehicles.
  • Strength: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility: Able to kneel, bend, and move into positions to assist or provide care during emergencies.
  • Standing: Able to stand for 25% or more of the shift.
  • Sitting: Can sit periodically, possibly for 50% of the shift, for documentation.
  • Experience: Must have one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Technology: Knowledge of Microsoft applications and willingness to learn documentation software. Basic computation skills required.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate verbally, write clear documentation, and organize tasks independently.
  • Certifications: Must have or obtain the Direct Service Provider certification within 120 days.
