About the Role
The Academic Interventionist l is responsible for assisting teachers in the classroom, supervising students outside of the classroom, or providing academic support for teaching. As an Academic Interventionist you will also be responsible for monitoring the progress of all the students and identifying those who are having learning difficulties or other academic problems.
About the Opportunity

Assists teacher with conducting lessons, managing the classroom and developing materials

Track student progress during the school year and create reports to let parents understand what their children are learning

Empower students through programs designed to enhance their academic and social achievements

Work with computers and specialized AV equipment to make these resources available to the teacher during lessons
-
Act as a nurturing and encouraging influence for students during lessons

Monitor the classroom and minimize distractions and disruptions
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree (required)
-
Two years of academics intervention experience or paraprofessional experience
-
A strong desire to work towards equity within education
-
Growth mindset and a desire to learn and grow through consistent coaching and feedback

A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality

Belief that all students are capable of success and deserve to be pushed to a rigorous academic and behavioral bar
-
Willingness to do whatever it takes and go above and beyond to serve all students, faculty, and parents
Physical Demands
-
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the workday while instruction is going forth.

Able to occasionally move about inside the classroom and school building to monitor students productivity and behavior daily.

Occasionally ascend stairs to migrate throughout the workspace
