Robert Half is seeking an experienced Server Administrator with a strong background in Microsoft 365 migrations to support a professional services organization based in Seattle, Washington. This position will lead critical email, OneDrive, and SharePoint migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition to Microsoft cloud-based services while maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of core systems.
Duration: 6-month contract (with potential to extend)
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8-5pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Migration Lead:
- Lead the planning and execution of enterprise-level migrations to Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint Online.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and create migration strategies tailored to organizational needs.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruption and downtime during migrations.
Server & Systems Administration:
- Maintain and support Windows server environments (physical and virtual).
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Cloud Platform Management:
- Configure and manage Microsoft 365 tenant settings including security and compliance policies.
- Administer Exchange Online mailboxes, distribution groups, and retention policies.
- Manage SharePoint site collections, libraries, and permissions.
Collaboration & Support:
- Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and success.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and guidance for Microsoft 365-related issues.
- Train end users and develop documentation for migration processes and best practices.
- Proven experience in managing or leading Microsoft 365 migrations (email, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
- Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams administration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft security and compliance tools (DLP, MFA, conditional access, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, or MS-700.
- Experience with third-party migration tools (e.g., Quest, BitTitan, SkyKick).
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
