Project Estimator - Future Estimating Team Lead

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Project Estimator to join our team. This is more than a technical estimating role - it's a strategic opportunity for someone with leadership experience or aspirations to build and lead our estimating function over time. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction estimating and a vision for scaling processes, mentoring others, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Lead the estimating process for reconstruction, renovation, and remodeling projects across mixed-use and commercial properties.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to align estimates with project goals and timelines.
  • Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam to produce detailed take-offs, scopes of work, and cost breakdowns.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, budgets, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of estimating standards, tools, and workflows.
  • Play a key role in building and mentoring a future estimating team, helping shape the department's growth and structure.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the construction industry, ideally with leadership or team-building experience.
  • Strong proficiency in estimating software and digital take-off tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings with precision.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with commercial and mixed-use building projects, including renovations and remodels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to improve systems and mentor junior estimators.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
