Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher is needed to support elementary students in an educational setting located in Naperville, IL. This contract position covers the full school year and offers the opportunity to work with a diverse student population requiring specialized instructional approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique learning needs
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to ensure a comprehensive support system
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and development
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Patience, creativity, and commitment to supporting diverse learners
