Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available at a middle school located in Arvada, CO. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and focuses on providing support to students within a self-contained classroom environment. The classroom is staffed with three paraprofessionals to assist in delivering specialized instruction and meeting the diverse needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with special education needs in a middle school setting.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to implement educational plans and manage classroom activities.
- Assist with physical care requirements of students, which may include lifting and diaper changing.
- Maintain compliance with state education guidelines and contribute to progress monitoring and reporting.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes the academic and social development of each student.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification in Special Education.
- Prior teaching experience in Colorado schools is preferred.
- Capability to work onsite full-time within the school setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
