About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our commercial plumbing team. This role supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing plumbing projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all phases of plumbing construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Review scope and transition project from the Estimating team to the Field Operations Team
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow including but not limited to setting up pre-liens, job accounts and insurance certificates.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare status reports for stakeholders such as submitting RFIs and change orders to the General Contractor as required by our field operations.
  • Perform a detailed take-off of materials required for the project and identify materials that may not be approved per the specification book and get approvals for lower cost equals while maintaining a procurement log to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations on scheduling crews, equipment and sub contactors.
  • Help resolve on-site issues promptly and effectively.
  • Coordinate the submission of close-out documentation as required by the General Contractor.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in plumbing or mechanical construction projects preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and relevant codes is a plus.
