Job DescriptionSalary: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY


This position is for aHardscape Foreman to work at our Plymouth, MA location. The Hardscape Foreman is responsible for leading crews in the efficient and high-quality installation of hardscape features on residential and commercial landscape construction projects. This role involves hands-on coordination of on-site activities including patios, retaining walls, walkways, grading, and drainage. The Foreman ensures that all work aligns with project plans, quality standards, and safety protocols. Serving as the on-site leader, the Hardscape Foreman provides direction, motivates the team, and communicates regularly with project managers. The ideal candidate has extensive hardscape experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional outdoor spaces.

OBJECTIVES

  • Execute hardscape construction projects on schedule and to a high standard of quality.
  • Supervise and direct daily work of construction crews, maintaining efficiency and job site safety.
  • Ensure hardscape installations align with design plans and exceed workmanship expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers to provide updates, report issues, and coordinate needs.
  • Manage labor, materials, and equipment on site to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Provide training and mentorship to crew members on proper techniques and safety procedures.
  • Identify and solve site challenges efficiently to avoid delays or rework.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in quality control and ensure all finished work meets company and client standards.


COMPETENCIES

  • Strong leadership and crew management skills in landscape or hardscape construction environments.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting hardscape plans and construction details.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardscaping including patios, walls, steps, drainage, and grading.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to give direction and relay information to project managers.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and decision-making skills in field conditions.
  • Ability to manage time, labor, tools, and materials to maintain production goals.
  • Commitment to craftsmanship and maintaining high-quality installation standards.
  • Familiarity with safe and proper use of construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to train and lead team members with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a results-driven mindset.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hardscape or landscape construction, including at least 1 year in a leadership or foreman role.
  • Proven experience with hardscape construction techniques and equipment.
  • Proficiency with equipment such as skid steers, compactors, saws, and laser levels.
  • Valid drivers license and dependable transportation.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety practices and standards.
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain professionalism on job sites.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk, stand, lift, and perform physical labor outdoors for extended periods, including uneven or sloped terrain.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable with bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for working with tools and reading plans.
  • Hearing and verbal communication skills for job site safety and team coordination.
  • Stamina to work long hours during peak seasons or project deadlines.
  • Capacity to respond to urgent on-site needs quickly and effectively.
