Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts meetings with line leaders to discuss and identify product-quality related problems
  • Identifies sources of the problems and design corrective actions that will resolve the issues
  • Tracks and reports quality, and cost of quality (COQ) measurements
  • Helps in facilitating the necessary training events for improving quality-related processes and techniques
  • Facilitates the efforts of quality improvement teams for problem solving
  • Reads and interprets schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions
  • Inspects fabrication sub assemblies, assemblies, or electronic systems or support structures and components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using several inspection tools, including but not limited to: wire cutters, screwdrivers, stripping tools, signal generators, drills, and calipers
  • Suggests adjustments based on prints, or paperwork provided, for repair, or replacement of parts, component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Safely uses any special tooling and lifting devices provided
  • Confers with line leaders, supervisors, or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems
  • Uses visual inspection techniques to verify quality of product
  • Assists in troubleshooting efficiency and effectiveness
  • Participates in training and cross-training efforts as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in electrical/mechanical assembly within a quality discipline strongly desired
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical/electrical assembly strongly desired
  • Knowledge of GD&T, as well as electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Knowledge of fabrication and weld processes
  • Basic knowledge of using common hand tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, tape measures, wrenches, vice grips, levels, and pliers, calipers
  • Computer knowledge working with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Technical certifications in Inspections, Auditing, Technical, Engineering strongly desired
  • Ability to read and write written procedures and understand wiring diagrams/schematics/work orders/blueprints
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking ability to respond to manufacturing needs
  • Ability to work independently or with a team

This position is located in an industrial/production environment, with exposure to:

  • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
