A K-12 school in Amherst, MA is seeking an experienced school psychologist for a 3-month maternity leave coverage during the fall semester. This contract position focuses on supporting an 800-student high school community by providing specialized psychological services and contributing to the overall educational environment.
Responsibilities include conducting approximately eight student evaluations per month, assisting with assessments that inform individualized education plans, and collaborating with school staff to support student needs. The role does not involve counseling but does require participation in additional school duties to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in K-12 settings
- Ability to interpret assessment results and communicate findings effectively with educators and families
- Strong organizational skills to manage evaluation caseload and school responsibilities
- Knowledge of relevant educational laws and special education regulations
